God by Jesus is a devotional and educational app, written by a family rather than by a church or an institution. It is made to help you read, think, and act with kindness. What follows explains what the app is, and what it is not.

1. Not an official teaching.

The reflections, summaries, and explanations here are one reading of the biblical text among many. They are not the official teaching of any church, denomination, seminary, or religious authority, and no such body has reviewed or endorsed them. Where thoughtful people have long disagreed, this app has had to choose. Treat those choices as an invitation to study further, never as a verdict.

2. Scripture retold in our own words.

The stories, parables, and passages in the app are retold in the app's own words rather than quoted from any Bible translation. Chapter and verse references are given throughout, so you can always read a passage in full, in the translation you trust.

3. Eliam and Apple Intelligence.

On devices that support Apple Intelligence, Eliam's replies are written on the spot by Apple's on-device language model. Generated text can be mistaken, can oversimplify, and can occasionally state something that is not in the scripture at all. Eliam is a companion for reflection: not a teacher, not a source of doctrine, and not a substitute for reading the passage yourself. On all other devices, Eliam replies from a fixed set of responses written by hand.

4. Quizzes, duels, and scores.

The games exist to make study enjoyable. An answer counted as correct means only that it matches what this app teaches, and a low score says nothing about you, your knowledge, or your faith.

5. Kindness challenges.

The challenges invite you to do something real in the world. Please take them on with the knowledge of a parent, guardian, or another adult you trust. Never share personal information, never go anywhere alone with someone you do not know, and never put yourself or anyone else at risk in order to finish a challenge. Skipping a challenge that does not feel safe or right is always the correct choice.

6. The map.

Biblical sites are shown at traditional or widely accepted coordinates. Some identifications are debated by historians and archaeologists, and some are approximate. The map is meant for study, not for travel or navigation. It shows historical places rather than present-day borders, names, or political arrangements, and nothing in it is intended as a statement on any contemporary territorial or political question.

7. Not professional advice.

This app speaks about suffering, loss, and evil. It is not counseling, therapy, medical advice, legal advice, or crisis support, and it must never be used in place of them. If you are struggling, or if you or someone else is in danger, please turn to a qualified professional, a trusted adult, or your local emergency or crisis service.

8. Mistakes.

Errors of history, translation, and interpretation are possible in a work of this size. Corrections are genuinely welcome at godbyjesussupport@icloud.com.

9. Links to other apps.

Links to music, podcast, or other applications simply open them. What you find there is not ours, and we cannot vouch for it.
